AirLive has just announced the N.Power router which the company claims to be the most powerful Wireless b/g/n router available on the market today as it can span distances of up to 2.6km when used in an outdoor environment.
In order to enable its creation to reach that sort of distances, AirLive has increased the output power of the N.Power to an impressive 2 Watt, when paired together with its small 3dBi indoor antenna (1000mW without).
In addition, the output power can also be lowered if there is no need to span such high distances, and
AirLive enables users to scale this from 30dBm all the way down to 12dBm.
Other interesting features include an USB 2.0 port that can be used for attaching an external storage device to setup a quick file sharing via an FTP service, multiple SSID and bandwidth control support as well PoE capabilities.
This stands for Power over Ethernet and allows the
router to draw its power from the Ethernet cable instead from a wall socket, if such a system is available.
“The debut of our most powerful Wireless-b/g/n router in the world is significant as it is the first full-featured
Wireless-N. Power router to combine wide ranging capabilities, features, infrastructure and a community to enable application development,” stated Beesha Lin, Sales and Marketing director at AirLive.
“With the N.Power's incredible large coverage, it is ideal for hotel, school, park, shopping malls installations.
“You can use far less number of access points to achieve the same coverage; therefore, reduce the cost of installation tremendously,” concluded the company's rep.
AirLive hasn't made public any information regarding pricing or the release date of the N.Power, but the router is already listed on the company's website.
