"The Story of AFDS" is set in a time when scientific technology has reached an all new level and the ability to cure almost all human diseases has become a reality. However, as a result, the Earth has become overpopulated and basic necessities are becoming scarce. In the midst of the growing epidemic, the nations that have abundant resources and are reluctant to share their resources with the rest of the Earth population have banded to form the "United Forces",

whereas the nations that are less fortunate have pooled their resources to form the "Allied Forces."

The gameplay of AFDS is very similar to its predecessor game Airforce Delta, in the sense that the player controls various aircraft to engage enemies and to accomplish missions. A new feature of AFDS is the "World Map", where the player moves his aircraft across the map through various checkpoints and flies in a mission. However, some of these checkpoints can be "recaptured" by the enemy, so the player must take careful account of how much "Range" his aircraft has; "Range" allows the player to continue across the map without having to deal with enemy forces. When the player locates the mission on-screen, the player flies his aircraft towards the mission icon (either a land-based structure or a ship) and selects it.

Gameplay Hints

Spy Planes and Bombers:
In order to catch up to the red planes on the map (before you take flight), you must select the best plane with range. The higher the range, the faster you catch them. This is the only way to catch these red planes (Bombers or Spy). Otherwise, you will fly in circles trying to catch them.

Easier kills:
Always target the yellow section of a battleship, carrier, or any other type of target. Forget the turrets, as they explode once the yellow section is hit by your missiles or machine guns. You do not have time or missiles to try to get each target for more points.

Recommended fighter jets to win the first time around:
Use the F-14, F15C, F-18, F-22, BlackWidow, Funeral (end).
