Video game publisher NCsoft has announced that in order to celebrate the two years anniversary of its MMO Aion it will be launching a new game update and will offer a number of activities for those who are interested in coming back to the game.

All players who log into Aion can take part in the Ascension Festival, which takes place daily, and can also engage in a number of activities organized by the player community, with a full list offered on the official website of the game.

Those who have created an Aion account before and have not logged in for some time can also come back to the game before October 2 in order to take advantage of the Welcome Back Reactivation Celebration, which delivers buffs, bonuses and rewards for those who are interested in seeing how the MMO has evolved in the last few months.

To celebrate the two year anniversary of Aion the developers are also hard at work in order to create the 2.7 game update, which will be playable in both North America and in Europe on the test servers on October 13 and on the live servers on October 19.

The update will include two new Player versus Player arenas, known as the Crucible Coliseum.

The first one, the Arena of Discipline, allows players to engage in one to one battles that test player skills and concentration, while the second, Arena of Chaos, allows for free for all combat where the strongest player is the last one standing.

The Aion update 2.7 will also include a 48 person boss battle set in the Padmarashka’s Cave which will also deliver new armor and weapon sets for capable high level players.

Aion has been one of the best selling MMO launches of the last few years and one of the titles in the genre that has managed to maintain the player base relatively steady.
