Cosmetic changes

Aion was one of the success stories of last year. The MMO developed and published by NCsoft managed to translate its Korean appeal into popularity on Western markets and the creators are hard at work on offering new content for the player base. And it seems that the capacity to alter the look of the in-game model of player characters will be one of the first fresh features to be added, at some point in early February.

Players who are interested in trying out a different look will need to log into their account and buy a Plastic Surgery ticket, which can then be used in the game at a vendor to transform the looks of the character with the same amount of detail customization that was available when the model was initially created. There is also an option permitting players to change genders.

A community manager known as Tamat posted on the official forums of Aion saying that “In upcoming months, we will tell you more about our content plans for the year. We will be adding a substantial amount of new content and refining the content we have already. We believe that an MMO is not only a product, it’s a service. It deserves constant care and improvement. In that spirit, we will also be spending more time mobilizing in-game events. We are planning to offer frequent such events, and we are currently planning them out and looking at how we can make them as enjoyable as possible.”

The people at NCsoft are also saying that 2010 will be an important year for Aion as it gets more content but the full plans will only be revealed in a few months. It's not clear whether the developers will be interested in creating more Players vs. Players or Player vs. Environment content.
