Will exceed 11 million units in 2010

Advanced Micro Devices may have finally taken on Intel on the laptop front, increasing the appeal of mobile PCs in the process, but this market segment looks as though it won't be the only one to show a rapid growth this year. Granted, with the world economy getting, more or less, back on its feet, though Europe may disagree, all markets should rebound, at least to some extent. The all-in-one PC field even looks as though it will jump instead of just rise, to the point where its 2010 evolution will surpass the 50% improvement threshold by a long shot. At least, that's what recent reports suggest.

Digitimes has apparently made a very elaborate scrutiny of the all-in-one PC market segment and found that the outlook, for this year at least, is quite promising. During 2009, the total amount of AiO shipment was 6.85 million units. While not exactly unimpressive, this performance will supposedly be dwarfed by this year's. To be more specific, Digitmes research expects 11.5 million AiO to find their way to consumer homes by the end of December.

11.5 million equates to an on-year shipment growth of 62.8%, which is not at all unworthy of note. The top PC brands from Asia Pacific, namely Lenovo, MSI, Acer and ASUS, will supposedly see their market share rise to 23%, quite a bit higher than the 15% of last year. Meanwhile, Apple will, of course, remain in the lead, though its own share will plummet from 50% to 38%. It may also be said that inventions like Asetek's liquid cooled all-in-one will encourage more users to buy such computers.

Following Apple on second place is HP, expected to grab a hold of 13% of the total. Third place, thus, falls to MSI, with 8%, whereas fourth will be taken by Lenovo.
