Microsoft will debut Agora under the Windows Live brand umbrella. Designed to be a Windows Live Marketplace,
Agora will enable online retailers to add their products catalog to the Live Product Search Database. Once launched, Agora will be available at "productupload.live.com" and will be referred to as Windows Live Product Upload.
Initially, the service will be opened exclusively to locations within the United States, and price tags will come with the dollar sign attached. The Redmond Company has failed to reveal to the public the official release date, but Windows Live Product Upload is expected to be integrated in a forthcoming Live.com update.
Microsoft will enable the upload of products catalogs either via HTTP with a 100 MB limit or via FTP, where uploads are restricted to1.5 GB. The upload process will involve bundles of images (.jpg or .gif), descriptions, prices and links to their Online Store. The catalog files will be either *.txt or *.xml formats. Microsoft has also revealed that all uploads will be filtered during a processing stage in order to establish the accuracy level of the information uploaded and to drop fake products and to prevent fraud.
