1Password has received a new maintenance update from the folks at Agile Web Solutions. Version 2.9.25 includes both improvements and tweaks, as well as bug fixes. The update is free for all users of the software.

The desktop version of 1Password integrates directly into most browsers (Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb, DEVONagent, NetNewsWire, as well as Apple's own Safari), and sports built-in, anti-phishing and keylogger protection. Using the program, Mac owners can easily manage hundreds of passwords with one key. 1Password has been updated over a hundred times, with well over of a thousand changes since its initial debut in 2006.

Speaking of the newest 1Password release, Agile Web Solutions states that, “This is a maintenance release with several small fixes and improvements. The most notable change is a new Upgrade to Agile Keychain window that opens on first launch for those still using the OS X Keychain.” The latest changes include:

- OS X Keychain users are now prompted to upgrade to the Agile Keychain on first launch. You can see this help guide for details on the automatic upgrade process. - Added Upgrade to 1Password 3 menu item to Licenses window in the Advanced menu. - Now showing version number beside each license in the Licenses window. - Removed the Copy License Key menu item from the Licenses window as older graphical licenses did not have a copyable key. - The Help > Contact Us now opens the gorgeous new support page. - Now resetting Agile Keychain location before migration. - Removed some old entries from the Diagnostics Report to avoid confusion. - Fixed a rare exception that could occur when switching between keychain formats multiple times. - Fixed issue in Generated Passwords where the Location field could appear truncated. - Fixed a license validation problem that could cause some valid licenses to be rejected.

1Password for Mac OS X starts at $39.95 – Single User license. A Family license costs $59.95. The software is licensed on a per-person basis (a single license can be used by one person on as many Macs as they can afford), in order to reduce the total cost of the ownership.
