Aggressive mosquitoes said to be 20 times bigger than the bloodsuckers we are all too familiar with are getting ready to invade Florida.

State officials say that these monster insects have been spotted in Seminole County, and that they will soon start showing up in other regions as well.

The so-called mammoth mosquitoes have a very painful bite.

Because of this, people in the communities affected by this insect invasion have been asked to be extremely cautious and constantly put on insect repellent with DEET.

The only good news is that, as far as specialists can tell, the insects are not carrying any viruses.

Entomologists explain that these oversized mosquitoes, known to the scientific community as gallinippers, are native to eastern regions in the US, Daily Mail reports.

Their population significantly increased in the aftermath of the heavy rainfall brought about by tropical storm Debbie back in 2012.
