While vacationing in Africa, 30-year-old Sarah Brooks and her fiancé were attacked by an aggressive male elephant that turned their car topsy-turvy and sunk one of its tusks into the woman's upper thigh.

According to Daily Mail, the incident occurred in the Krueger National Park in South Africa.

Sarah Brooks recollects that she and her fiancé were doing nothing but filming the animal while the latter was drinking some water at the time when the incident occurred.

She says that, sooner than one would expect, the pachyderm left the waterhole, headed for their car and flipped it over.

The 30-year-old woman from Spalding in Lincolnshire, UK had to be rushed to a hospital where doctors took care of treating the injuries she had sustained. She was only allowed to go home after a few days.

Not long after the attack, park rangers tracked down the elephant and shot it dead. They say they had no choice but to do so due to the fact that the male elephant was in musth.

For those unaware, musth is a periodic condition in male elephants that is characterized by highly aggressive behavior and elevated testosterone levels.

The animal also sported an injury, and rangers suspect that this contributed to its aggressive behavior towards the tourists.
