For all those who left the game

Funcom is launching yet another campaign designed to bring back players who have left its MMO, Age of Conan. The company is saying that all those who have had an active account in the game can now log in and reactivate it in order to get two weeks worth of free play time, during which they can enjoy the title and witness the changes that Funcom has been implementing.

The idea is to make older gamers who have been disappointed by the MMO return and fall in love with it again so that they can then spread the word of the improvements implemented, which Funcom calls “the second coming of Conan.”

Morten Larssen, who is the vice president of Sales and Marketing at Funcom, stated that “After the hugely successful launch last year we immediately started working on updates that would make the game better and provide more content for players, and that is what we have been doing this past year. With the most recent update just out the door, this is the time to ask players to come back and see the results!”

If you plan to experience the game for free for two weeks, you need to reactive your account between July 8 and July 22. Funcom is also saying that it is closing down the trial campaign, which is free at the moment, to make sure that it has the capacity to provide the best experience for returning players.

Funcom had a hit on its hands when Age of Conan was released last year. The game sold very well and a big number of people liked the initial stages of the MMO. Unfortunately, there was little content implemented for high level players and gamers quickly ran out of things to do in the game. Since then, Funcom has been working hard to fix bugs, introduce new areas and new abilities.
