American Greetings has turned to the services offered by Agari in an attempt to ensure that their e-card users are protected against phishing and other email-based cyberattacks.

To accomplish this task, the security firm will leverage the recently introduced Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance (DMARC) framework.

Fake e-cards represent an ever growing problem for regular internet users since cybercriminals rely on them in their malicious schemes.

With the system implemented by Agari, American Greeting customers will have to worry less if the cards they receive are legitimate or not, mainly because the DMARC system detects signs of fraud and stops the threats before they can reach a potential victim’s online mail box.

“Our goal is to instill confidence with each email we send, so every user can proceed with complete assurance of the integrity and authenticity of the AG Interactive brand,” said Gary Von Hoch of American Greetings Interactive.
