Some not so many years ago, putting "swimming" and "listening to music" in the same sentence (other than a negative one) was something rare and almost silly. Everybody knew that water and electronics don't make good friends and each time they met, water used to win while electronics used to fry. Seemingly, H2O, a company whose name is the actual chemical formula of water, was not at all content with the same result over and over again and decided this balance had to be changed; and today H2O is proudly presenting its new and improved headphones for underwater use, codenamed Surge.

The H2O Surge headphones have a design that's been inspired and improved following countless reports from customers and athletes alike, mixed with the efforts of the H2O research and development team.

The ultimate goal for the Surge headphones was to attain the best acoustic underwater performance, while still keeping these pieces dry and in full working conditions and making as few compromises as possible. So far, from what the H2O Surge look like and from their descriptions, we're dealing with a pair of headphones that can be submerged down to 12 feet (12.6 m) and which are able to endure pretty much wet abuse.

The ear pieces come with special-design rubberized sleeves that can be easily changed and thus fit snugly in every ear, without fear of water getting in. Even the neodymium-powered drivers are waterproof and sport an 8 mm diameter, with critically engineered performance specs and response, ensuring a strong, deep, rolling bass deployment while at the same time retaining the aired clarity of any top-drawer headphones around.

Even more, they come equipped with the proprietary MotionFlex Strain Relief Connector, compatible with all 3.5mm jacks, preventing early tearing and ensuring a watertight wear. As far as color options and price are concerned, the H2O Surge headphones come in either black or Kai Blue and sell for under $60, carrying case included.
