One of the most famous antivirus solutions on the Internet, Kaspersky Antivirus, was recently involved in a false alarm that scared the Chinese users. The security application flagged rsaupd.exe as Trojan.Win32.Inject.av although the executable file is used by Rising Antispyware to update its definitions. According to C.I.S.R.T., numerous Chinese users with the two applications installed on their computers encountered the problem.

"Some Chinese users tell us that Kaspersky detects "rsaupd.exe" as Trojan.Win32.Inject.av today. "rsaupd.exe" is a program of Rising AntiSpyware
software, which is used to update the databases. Rising AntiSpyware software is a famous anti-spyware software in China, lots of Chinese users are using it. Kaspersky is also used widely in China. So many Kaspersky users who are also Rising users, have meet this problem," The Chinese Internet Security Response Team sustained in a message posted on their page.

At this time, Kaspersky Lab fixed the problem so there is no reason to worry that your antivirus might flag some clean files as dangerous. So, a security solution flagged another security application as dangerous, although it was clean. A few days ago, Symantec's Norton Antivirus flagged two Windows files as dangerous and caused even more problems than Kaspersky's product.

It all started with the fake notification displayed by the antivirus that informed users about the existence of a virus in two Windows files. However, the problem didn't stop here and it caused even more trouble for the affected users. After the restart of the computer, the Windows operating system returned a bluescreen without offering any option for the administrator. There were no simple solutions for the errors, the only one being represented by the Restore System function included in Windows XP.
