iTunes accused for distributing pornographic podcasts

It seems that the pornographic scandal that involved Rockstar Games will affect the entire IT domain, not only the gaming industry.

After getting involved in the Rockstar Games scandal, the lawyer Jack Thompson has decided now that Sims 2 is way too erotic for its M rating, which means suitable for persons over 17.

If up until now, we have witnessed a puritan crusade against games, it seems that Apple is next in line to be the target of activists.

The arguments of those who are concerned that podcasts could be used to distribute pornographic content are generated by the fact that one could find sex podcasts on iTunes.

According to Wall Street Journal, the podcast that disturbs the most is Open Source Sex, whose broadcaster is Violet Blue, an author of sex books. In the 6000 top, this podcast occupies position 21. But this is irrelevant, the important part is that discussions with sexual character are labeled accordingly.

The concern of those who see in iTunes and in podcasting a distribution channel for pornography is not justified considering that the podcasts indexed by iTunes are selected by a team of editors.

Despite these facts, given the Rockstar Games incident, we might witness more and more pornography accusations, this issue causing a lot of debating and requiring senators to drink large amounts of "hot coffee".
