The first ever Xperia brand tablet wants to start completely over

Back at IFA 2011, we saw the Xperia Tablet S as it was constantly splashed with water. All signs suggested that the tablet worked fine.

Unfortunately, it was later discovered that the tablet wasn't completely waterproof, so Sony recalled them all (over 100,000) and halted shipments until the problem was resolved.

Sales haven't started again yet, but some say that Sony has decided to resume shipments during the middle of November.

In fact, Sony will supposedly re-launch the Xperia Tablet S, hoping to erase the first experience from buyers' minds and remove any bias that may have appeared because of it.

The new Xperia Tablet S will no doubt have the latest firmware already installed. Perhaps the company will even offer compensation, like shipping the speaker dock for free, though we strongly doubt it.
