Adobe rolled out the first update for After Effects CS6. The release includes performance bug fixes, but it also improves GPU and 3D renderer support.

The suite can now be used for GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer on Windows on machines equipped with the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 680. Note that the first time you start Adobe After Effects with a Kepler-class GPU, there will be a delay of about one minute as the new ray-traced 3D library is initialized.

Among the bugs that have been eliminated there are problems with the global performance cache that caused sometimes that old or invalid image details to be read instead of the latest information.

Performance and stability repairs have been performed, as the suite would crash when evaluating some expressions or when using 3D Camera Tracker effect.
