“After Earth” Trailer: Jaden Smith and Will Smith Are a Team

If there’s anything better than a Will Smith movie, that’s probably a movie with Will Smith and his son Jaden, preferably one in which they play father and son. “After Earth” is exactly that and has just gotten a first trailer.

Directed by M. Night Shyamalan (though he’s strangely not mentioned at all in the clip above), the film tells the story of a father and son who crash on Earth, one of the most dangerous planets around because, as Smith explains in voiceover, everything here has evolved to kill humans.

Obviously, they are the only humans now on the planet and, as it so happens, do their best to escape from it unharmed.

The trailer shows that Will’s character is injured, so this mission will fall on his son’s shoulders.

“After Earth” will be out on June 7, 2013.
