At this point, the population of most African countries is growing out of control. Most people realize that the already-present lack of resources that they are enduring will only prevail in the future. This rise in population will force the infrastructure of major cities to cope or be destroyed.

Providing shelter and commodities for millions of people is no mean feat, as the mayor of any large city in the world could tell you. The situation is especially worse in Africa, where lack of even the most basic resources, such as water, is very common.

At this point, the entire African population is about 1 billion people, but the continent is expect to double its population – to about 2.3 billion people – within 40 years. This will place huge strains on resources and cities, and there is no way for the poorest continent in the world to provide for all these souls.
