9gag post pokes fun at Apple’s latest iPhone, proposes “protection”

A new iPhone 5s joke is making the rounds spurring both laughs and paranoia, depending on who’s clicking.

Handed to me by a 9gag-loving colleague, this (fake) iSticker Apple ad suggests that some people will go to great lengths to keep their fingerprints away from the eyes of the government.

Not owning the iPhone 5s would be enough to keep paranoid thoughts at a safe distance, but if you simply can’t contain purchase, the fake ad proposes that eager buyers also grab a sticker which they can place on the phone’s Home button for “protection.” It even puts the iconic rounded square back on your iPhone!

I’m not going to say it’s stupid only to see another NSA geek confirm our fears five years later, but I think the safest approach for those who think they’re being monitored is simply to buy the iPhone 5c. No, wait, that one has a front-facing camera and mics.

You know what? Just find a decent cave and settle in.
