Afox certainly isn't one of the best-known graphics card manufacturers out there, but, for quite some time, the company has been busy building what has come to be a wide series of Nvidia as well as AMD powered graphics cards, and the latest addition to Afox' portfolio is the GTX 550 Ti-based AF550-1024D5H1.

The first thing that one notices when taking a look at Afox' creation is the colorful design the company used for the plastic shroud that covers the custom designed cooling system.

This is based on a round aluminum heatsink that packs a copper base and reminds me quite a bit of Nvidia's reference solution used for chilling the GTX 550 Ti.

While its performances should be more than adequate to keep the temperatures of the GF116-400 core in check, it would have been nice if Afox had used some sort of heatsinks to cover the cards VRMs to provide them with additional cooling.

As far as operating clocks are concerned, Afox' implementation is one of the very few GTX 550 Ti video cards that comes without any sort of factory overclock, so its GPU works at the default 900MHz while the memory is running at 1026MHz (4104MHz effective).

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics card was designed in order to replace the not-so-old GTS 450 and is based on GF116-400 core that packs 192 CUDA processors, 32 texturing units, 24 ROP units, and a 192-bit memory bus that is connected to 1GB of GDDR5 video buffer.

The card's TDP is rated at 116W, and, connectivity wise, the GTX 550 Ti packs a pair of dual-link DVI ports as well as a mini-HDMI output.

Afox didn't mention the price of their recently released graphics solution, but considering its stock clocks this is expected to be priced at $149.99.
