Document allegedly violated the tenets of Islam

The history of humankind has seen many audacious acts and even more that can be simply named with one word: manslaughter. It was often endorsed by the ruling body and because of that it was all of a sudden a good thing to behead or stone the alleged culprit to death. That being said, political violence, as it is the case here, is not necessarily to be booed on sight. It was often the glue that held nations together through harsh times and the developing reason for a bigger picture to be painted in secret. None of the overthrows of governments would have taken place without it as an instrument of poking at the rebellious people.

The Associated Press reports that an Afghan court sentenced yesterday a 23-year-old journalism student to death for sharing with his colleagues, in class for discussion, a paper he had printed off the Internet. The reason for the harsh decision is that the content on it violated the tenets of Islam. Sayad Parwez Kambaksh was turned in by some of his fellow students, who complained to the government about it.

The trial was short and it must have broken every rule of legal conduct and that there was no lawyer to represent the accused, as the family complained. They also said that they were not noticed about the trial that had just taken place. Sayad still has two more chances to escape the fate that the court laid before him, he was granted two appeals and the first is to begin soon. During it, he will remain jailed, as he's been since October, when the arrest took place.

The other option the unlucky journalism student has is that after admitting to violating the tenets of Islam, the President Hamid Karzai would pardon him.
