It looks like India is not the only market flooded with cheap Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablets. Ematic, a company focusing on portable media and tablets, recently launched a budget-friendly slate, the eGlide XL Pro 2.

According to Ematic, the tablet is now available at ShopNBC.com, Walmart.com, and Amazon.com. The manufacturer suggests a $219.99 USD (170 EUR) price for eGlide XL Pro 2, but the price may vary.

Aside from the tablet’s cheap price, the eGlide XL Pro 2’s main selling point would be Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform that comes pre-installed on the slate.

Furthermore, the Android-powered tablet sports a 10-inch capacitive touchscreen display, which is meant to improve user’s media experience.

It is also worth mentioning that the tablet’s HD video player is fully capable to run up to 1080p HD video and games by connecting to an HDTV.

The eGlide XL Pro 2 is equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor and 400MHz GPU, though there are no details on the manufacturer of the CPU.

In addition, the tablet packs 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, 5GB of free cloud storage, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Software-wise, the eGlide XL Pro 2 comes preloaded with Kobo eReading application and EDAN (Ematic Digital Assistant & Navigator).

The latter virtual assistant app allows users to verbally dictate an email, a Facebook message, or a tweet without having to rely on the tablet’s on-screen keyboard.

It appears that eGlide XL Pro 2 does not provide access to Google Play store, but users will be able to install third-party apps and games via Ematic App Shop.

We’re thrilled to launch the eGlide XL Pro 2, and add it to our expanding line of tablets which suit various needs and lifestyles. This tablet incorporates everything our consumers love about Ematic products: durability, productivity and affordability,” said Roy Rayn, general manager of Ematic.
