The Indian market has been flooded with budget-friendly Android tablets in the past few weeks. Small and major companies alike launched affordable slates powered by Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

Today, Indian bran WikedLeak announced the upcoming availability of the Wammy Ethos tablet, which offers both 3G and HSPA+ support.

Wammy Ethos will be available in India from July 25 and customers will be able to purchase it for just Rs 8,999 (165 USD or 130 EUR) outright.

As expected, the slate is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, but the main selling point will probably be the HSPA+ 3G network support that will offer users 7.2mbps download and 5.76mpbs upload speeds.

This would be the third tablet launched by WickedLeak, after the Wammy 7 and Wammy Plus ICS-based tablet got quite popular on the Indian market a while ago.

Wammy Ethos is aimed at those who cannot afford to purchase an expansive ICS-based tablet manufactured by Samsung or other well-known brand.

The slate comes with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports resolutions of 800 x 480 pixels, and weighs 450 grams (battery included).

Hardware-wise, Wammy Ethos is equipped with a 1.2 GHz single-core processor, 512 MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Riding on the success of our Two ICS tablets (Wammy 7 and Wammy Plus), we at Wickedleak have thoughtfully launched an enhanced version of the tablet which will enable consumers to experience better processing speeds , Phone calling ,SMS , Navigation and capacity at pocket friendly prices. We have added Bluetooth as this makes it possible to use the phone feature as there are many tablets in the market with phone feature without Bluetooth which makes it very difficult for end user to use,” a company spokesperson said.
