14 DAY TRIAL // Indian OEM Spice Mobiles has just announced the immediate availability of a new entry-level Android smartphone, the Smart Flo Poise Mi-451.
Spice Mobiles is definitely among the top three OEMs that sell Android handsets in India, but its devices are pretty popular on this emerging market, where price and features like dual-SIM support are very important for customers.
This is why most of Spice’s smartphones are coming with these features no matter the price range. The latest addition to its portfolio is called Smart Flo Poise Mi-451 and, as expected, it offers dual-SIM with dual standby support.
Dual standby support allows users to fit in two SIMs into their smartphone, but it doesn’t allow them to take calls simultaneously. Apart from that, dual SIM is a pretty nifty feature for the affordable Smart Flo Poise Mi-451.
Speaking of price, AndroidOS reports that the smartphone is now available for purchase for only Rs 5,499 outright, which is about $90 or €65.
Specs-wise Spice Smart Flo Poise Mi-451 is quite decent for its price. It sports a generous 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display, though the resolution supported is unknown for the moment.
The insides of the smartphone are a bit on the low-end side, as Spice decided to include a less powerful 1.3GHz dual-core processor, which is probably provided by MediaTek.
Moreover, the dual-core CPU is complemented by only 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. Obviously, users will have much less storage at their disposal, but at least they will be offered the option to further expand internal memory up to 32GB via microSD memory card.
On the back, Spice Smart Flo Poise Mi-451 features a sub-par 3.2-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front, there’s a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera.
The smartphone also comes packed with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM Radio and 1450 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer. The Smart Flo Poise Mi-451 does not come with 3G support, instead it offers 2G connectivity.
Software-wise, Spice Mobiles has confirmed that its low-end smartphone ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system and features preloaded popular apps like WhatsApp Messenger and WeChat.
