Chinese handset maker Huawei is about to debut another affordable Android smartphone, the G6. Although it’s tagged as a budget-friendly handset, the G6 comes with impressive features.

The folks over at MyDrivers report that the Huawei G6 is the cheaper version of the Ascend P6, which is already available on the market.

Only some of the Ascend P6 features have been downgraded to keep costs low, but the G6 makes as a nice alternative for Android fans.

The smartphone is said to come equipped with a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz, unlike the Ascend P6 which packs a 1.5GHz quad-core Huawei K3V2 CPU.

Furthermore, the G6 might boast a decent 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display, though the information has yet to be confirmed. All in all, the smartphone’s screen is likely to be smaller than P6’s 4.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display.

Huawei G6 has been confirmed to measure 130 x 65 x 7.5mm and has been recently certified at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission.

This means that the device will be released in China initially, but there’s always a chance that Huawei will bring the affordable G6 to other countries as well.

It is also worth mentioning that Huawei G6 will ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, and is likely to remain on this version until it gets discontinued. Do not rely on any future major upgrades for this device when considering the G6 for purchase.

Huawei G6 also packs an enhanced 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 5-megapixel camera.

On the inside, the G6 comes packed with 1GB of RAM and an unknown amount of storage, but it’s been confirmed that users will be able to expand internal memory up to 32GB via microSD memory card. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming availability of Huawei G6.
