Indian carrier BSNL has just introduced two new budget-friendly smartphones in India, the Penta Smart PS501 and Penta Smart PS650, which are made in collaboration with Pantel.

Both smartphones will be available in India soon and customers that purchase any of the two will be offered 3GB of 3G data and up to 300 minutes of talk time free, AndroidOS reports.

As a matter of fact, Penta Smart PS501 is already available for purchase through the carrier’s online and brick and mortar stores for only Rs 6,300 ($100/€75) outright.

The other BSNL Pantel smartphone, the Penta Smart PS650 will hit shelves within the next few days and customers will be able to get it for just Rs 7,900, which is about $125 or €90.

Specs-wise, only the PS650 stands out from other smartphones in the same price range, as the device has been confirmed to arrive with an unbelievable 6.5-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display. The screen’s resolution hasn’t been mentioned, but we doubt it will be too high at this price.

Furthermore, the smartphone packs a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

There’s also a 2-megapixel rear-facing camera and a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls. Penta Smart PS650 ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and drains energy from a high-capacity 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery.

The other Pantel smartphone that’s already available on the market, Penta PS501 comes with a 5-inch FWVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

The handset is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 4GB of internal memory, 5-megapixel photo snapper and 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery. Just like the PS650, Penta Smart PS501 ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform onboard.
