At first glance, Motorola MOTOSMART Flip looks just like any other clamshell feature-phones. The good news is that this one hides some pretty neat features under its chassis.

MOTOSMART Flip will be available in Peru in the following days through various major carriers in the country for prices that will be disclosed closer to launch.

Although the device can go as a clamshell, MOTOSMART Flip come with a transparent and touchscreen cover, so users won't need to flip open this smartphone to see who’s calling. Users will also be able to answer or reply if they have a new message, without having to open it up.

The smartphone comes with a decent 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, and a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. There's also a secondary VGA front facing camera for video calls.

On the inside, the device is packed with an 800 MHz single core processor, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Motorola MOTOSMART Flip is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system with Moto Switch UI on top.

The latter is actively learning user's needs and organizes apps and contacts for easier access. This is possible thanks to Social Graph and Activity Graph features included within Moto Switch UI.

With Music Now users can access their favorite music while the Smart Gallery displays the latest pictures as collections. It is also worth mentioning the smartphone provides users access to more than 450,000 apps and games via Google Play store.

In the connectivity front, Motorola MOTOSMART Flip offers HSDPA (7.2Mbps) support and quad-band EDGE, along with built-in GPS receiver, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi b/g/n.

The smartphone's 1540 mAh Li-Ion battery should provide users with up to 9 hours of talk time or up to 500 hours of standby time.
