Not a week goes by without Micromax launching a new Android smartphone. The Indian company kicked off this week’s announcements with Micromax Canvas Fun A74, the second device in the Canvas Fun series that was launched last month.

The handset comes with some of the most demanded features on the Indian smartphone market, dual-SIM support and a low price.

The Canvas Fun A74 fully supports dual-SIM (GSM + GSM) connectivity with Dual Standby. This means that you won’t be able to take calls from a phone number while engaged in a conversation on the other.

However, dual-SIM support greatly reduces Indian consumers’ costs and is one of the reasons that dual-SIM phones are selling so well in this region.

Anyway, the Canvas Fun A74 is a mid-range smartphone that comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

As fonearena points out, Micromax Canvas Fun A74 is now available for purchase through various major retailers across the country for only Rs 7,749 (€90/$115) outright.

Aside from bringing one of the newest versions of Android to Indian customers, Micromax Canvas Fun A74 packs a more than decent 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6572 processor, as well as 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

There’s also a microSD card slot which allows users to further expand storage up to 32GB. On the back, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash and autofocus, while in the front, there’s a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Micromax Canvas Fun A74 boasts a large 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution, as well as 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The phone’s 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery has yet to be rated by the manufacturer, but Micromax has confirmed that Canvas Fun A74 comes packed with FM Radio with recording and 3.5mm audio jack port for those who wish to listen to music while on the move.
