Lava is a well-known Indian OEM that launches dozens of Android smartphones and tablets each year. The most recent Android device announced by Lava, the Iris X1, is already available for purchase in India for just Rs 7,999 ($135 / €100) outright.

However, it appears that the company is readying to launch two more Android smartphones, which are likely to go official within the next few days – the Lava Iris 300 style and 3G 412.

Both smartphones are now listed on the company’s official website, but they have yet to be priced. Still, we do know that Lava Iris 300 style will be available in Dark Blue and White colors, while the Lava 3G 412 should arrive in Dark Grey and White.

Given the fact that both handsets are aimed at the budget-friendly segment, they are powered by an older version of Android, namely Jelly Bean 4.2.

Moreover, they offer dual-SIM capability and pack 1GHz dual-core processors that are complemented by 512MB of internal memory (only 125MB available to install apps and games), which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Keep in mind though that the Lava 3G 412 features 512MB of RAM, whereas the Iris 300 style comes with only 256MB RAM, which is disappointing even for a budget-friendly smartphone.

In addition, Lava Iris 300 style has been confirmed to sport a small 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 320 x 480 pixels resolution, while Lava 3G 412 has a slightly larger 4-inch display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Both smartphones come with 2-megapixel cameras on their back side, but only the Lava 3G 412 also features LED flash. The budget-friendly handsets also feature secondary VGA cameras for video calls and/or selfies.

Lava Iris 300 style is powered by a 1400 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer. It lacks 3G connectivity, but offers EDGE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB instead.

As the name suggests, Lava 3G 412 does offer 3G connectivity, along with other options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, microUSB and GPS with A-GPS.

Lava 3G 412 drains energy from a slightly better 1500 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the Indian OEM. Other features that both smartphones have in common include 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio.

Although there’s no word on when exactly the smartphones will be officially introduced in India, we expect both Lava affordable Android handsets to be available for purchase in the next couple of days. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
