The smartphone comes with dual-SIM support and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

Lava IRIS 405+ leaked online a few days ago and now the smartphone has been officially introduced in India at multiple major retailers across the country.

Given the fact that this is a mid-range Android smartphone, Lava decided against a dedicated press event for the launch of the IRIS 405+ handset.

According to Flipkart, Lava IRIS 405+ can now be purchased in India for only Rs 6,549 off contract, which is about $105 or €75.

Software-wise, the Lava IRIS 405+ ships with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, which is quite decent for such a cheap device.

On the inside, the handset comes equipped with a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor provided by MediaTek, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

It is also worth mentioning that potential customers who have decided to pick this one up will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Lava IRIS 405+ sports a 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution. On the back, the phone packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper, while in the front, there’ a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Other highlights of the smartphone include dual-SIM support, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, 3G support and 3.5mm audio jack.

The device is powered by a 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 10 hours of talk time (2 hours in 3G mode) or up to 657 hours of standby time (518 hours in 3G mode).
