The cheapest Android phone in the L-Style series launched by LG at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona earlier this week will soon be available on the market.

The Korean handset maker has just confirmed that the affordable LG Optimus L3 is expected to hit shelves this month in Europe, followed by Russia, Asia, and other markets.

Although LG Optimus L3 is a budget-friendly Android phone, the handset features the stylish L-Style design elements, including Modern Square Style and Harmonized Design Contrast with metallic accents.

It looks like the LG Optimus L3 will be the first model from the L-Style design series that will make its debut on the market this year. The smartphone comes with an 800 Mhz single core processor inside.

Aside from its clean lines, the smartphone sports more than decent 3.2-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution. There’s also a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus and video recording.

LG Optimus L3 runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and is powered by a single core processor clocked at 800 MHz. It also packs 1.2GB of internal memory, 384 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

For the time being, no details on the phone’s pricing options have been disclosed, but customers will be able to choose from four colors: white, black, hot pink or blue.

We’ve always believed in the need to offer a variety of smartphone options and many people simply don’t want to pay for a lot of extra bells and whistles. We think the Optimus L3 offers all of basic smartphone-related benefits but in a more premium package that hasn’t been seen before on a smartphone in this category,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Mobile Communications Company.
