Chinese handset maker Huawei has just announced the immediate availability of Ascend Y530 budget-friendly smartphone in the UK.

Android fans and enthusiasts looking for a cheap device can now grab the Huawei Ascend Y530 for only £150 (€183 / $250) outright.

However, keep in mind that at this price Motorola offers the Moto G, which might be a better choice for some. Still, let's see what the Ascend Y530 has to offer in comparison with other devices in the same price range.

First and foremost, Huawei Ascend Y530 is aimed at first time smartphone users. Basically, the smartphone allows users to switch between a Simple Android Interface and Huawei's more complex Emotion UI.

The smartphone ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and don't expect any KitKat updates in the future.

Hardware-wise, the Ascend Y530 is far from being impressive. The smartphone comes equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snpadragon 200 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

Users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card. The smartphone sports a decent 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that support 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

On the back, Huawei Ascend Y530 packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

Keep in mind Huawei Ascend Y530 is now available for purhcase in black color via Argos, but it will also arrive in white at Carphone Warehouse sometime in March.

“The Huawei Ascend Y530 is a ground breaking proposition, offering consumers a choice of Android interfaces. Huawei has built a smartphone that will appeal to individuals who are looking for a fantastic smartphone entertainment experience that is both affordable and, as importantly, simple and easy to navigate and use,” said Rhys Saunders, UK Sales Director at Huawei Device.
