Android fans in Canada looking for a cheaper device as their second smartphone, as well as those who wish to purchase their first phone powered by Google’s mobile platform will be pleased to know Huawei will introduce the Ascend Y530 affordable device later this week.

According to an internal document leaked via MobileSyrup, major carrier Bell Canada will be the exclusive seller of Huawei’s Ascend Y530 smartphone beginning May 30. The smartphone will be available on prepaid for only $90 (€60) outright.

The Ascend Y530 comes with a rather decent version of Android, namely Jelly Bean 4.3, and packs a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

The smartphone sports a large 4.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution. On the inside, Huawei Ascend Y530 is equipped with only 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Connectivity-wise, Bell customers might want to know the Ascend Y530 offers 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS support.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone packs a 5-megapixel main camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary VGA camera in the front for video calls.
