The term “mid-range,” or mainstream, is one that determines which products from a certain category are likely to sell the most. Sharkoon has just unveiled a series of power supply units that fit the description.

Mainstream products need to strike the finest balance between performance, versatility, and price.

For PSUs, that means they need to have a good output but with decent efficiency as well, plus easy cable routing, if not modularity (where you get to choose which cables to install).

The Sharkoon WPM Bronze PSUsare semi-modular, meaning that, besides the essential cables that power the motherboard, you get to select which wires to use (SATA power, MOLEX, two PCI Express cables for add-in graphics cards).

Moving on, they have a 140 mm fan (each) and are colored a dark, charcoal grey.

They should have an efficiency of over 85 percent by 50 percent load as well as over 82 percent by 20 percent and 100 percent load.

Sharkoon should ship 400W, 500W, 600W, and 700W WPM Bronze PSUs with a power cable, a set of modular cables, a cable bag, an instruction manual, and mounting screws. The prices start at $50 / €50 and go up from there. The standby power consumption should be of 0.3 watts across the board.
