The announcement will be made in less than two weeks, rumors say

You'd think that an affordable product would be, well, possible to buy by the masses, but Bang & Olufsen might have found a different definition of the word.

After all, why else would they make a cost-friendly HDTV that, nonetheless, costs €2,399 ($3,170) or €2,899 ($3,831).

Granted, B&O will include its special TV software, complete with redesigned user interface, a DLNA media player and photo/audio sharing support (from Android and iOS devices), but still.

The two prices exist because the B&O Play-branded HDTVs will come in 32 inches and 40 inches.

The 32-inch TV will be called V1-32, while the 40-inch one is named V1-40.

The formal introduction is poised to occur in about two weeks' time, so we'll know for sure if this really is B&O's idea of “affordable.” Hopefully, the answer to that dilemma turns out to be a resounding “no.”
