LPI-Croatia, a  new Master Affiliate for Croatia, has been announced by The Linux Professional Institute (LPI), an institute that is responsible for Linux certification and which is supported  by the IT industry, enterprise customers, community professionals, government entities and the educational community.

The LPI certification is considered necessary in this particular region of Europe as it assures clients and employers that IT professionals have the requisite skills and knowledge to work with Linux.

"The Croatian Linux Users Group is a leading advocate for the use of Linux and Open Source Software in its region. We welcome them into the global network of LPI affiliates as they will provide an additional community voice for professional training and IT certification in Linux”, said Jim Lacey, president and CEO of LPI.

This means that region-specific partners will get support in translation and on-the-ground connections to academia, government and business.

LPI's certification program is supported by an affiliate network spanning five continents and is distributed worldwide in multiple languages at more than 7,000 testing locations.
