The GT-RS ATX is not really cubic but comes close

With all the cases said to be cubic, one would think that someone would finally launch a PC chassis that is actually shaped like a cube. Alas, the new Aerocool GT-RS ATX is not that long-awaited case.

Dry humor aside, the new PC enclosure from Aerocool is, nonetheless, one of the stockiest PC cases in the world, especially among ATX form factor models.

This is due to the dual-compartment design, something we seem to be seeing a lot of in recent months. Not enough to really overwhelm the status quo, but more than usual.

One compartment allows for a full ATX motherboard to be installed, while the other can hold the storage devices (all of them).

Some of the other dual-compartment cases we've seen are made that way in order to make room for two motherboards and, thus, two systems.

They are pretty rare, though, and rather unnecessary in the grand scheme of things to be honest. Aerocool went with something different.

Which is to say, it made it so that an ATX, micro-ATX or mini-ITX motherboard could be installed upside-down on the left side of the case.

VGA cards with a length of 300 mm / 11.81 inches and CPU coolers as tall as 121 mm / 4.76 inches can fit inside the allocated space.

That left more than enough room for the storage devices (SSDs, HDDs, ODDs) in the separate chamber.

In between everything, it's possible to fit water cooling systems with single or dual radiators, or just fans on the sides to keep the airflow strong.

That leaves one final detail worth noting: the PSU is located in the half with the optical disk drive and hard disk.

Availability

The Aerocool GT-RS, with front-accessible 5.15-inch and 3.5-inch bays (one and one, respectively) and a bunch of others stuffed inside, should be up for sale already at $70 / €64. Look for a black-painted case (all-black, both in and out) with a mesh side “window” and top I/O.
