The South-African actress Charlize Theron, 30, has recently said he had worked her guts out for her new film, the sci-fi thriller "Aeon Flux".



During the international Comicon convention in San Diego, the "Mosnter" star mentioned some of her adventures during the shootings for Aeon Flux. The actress has even faced rehab, after having landed on her neck.



"It sounds so cliche, but it's a smart action film, it really is", Charlize said. "I almost broke my neck for it, so it's incredible action, really good action", the actress added.












The action of the sci-fi thriller "Aeon Flux", based on the Peter Chung animation shown on MTV, is set 400 years in the future, when disease has wiped out the majority of the earth's population except for one walled, protected city-state, Bregna, ruled by a congress of scientists.

Oscar-winner Charlize Theron plays the title role of "Aeon Flux", who is the top operative in the underground "Monican" rebellion, led by the Handler, played by Frances McDormand.
When Aeon is sent on a mission to kill the government's leader (Marton Csokas), she uncovers a world of secrets, which makes her question everything she thought she knew.

The screenplay of the movie produced by Gale Anne Hurd, David Gale, Gary Lucchesi and Greg Goodman for Paramount Pictures was written by Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi in collaboration with Peter Chung, who portrayed the characters.

The movie starring Charlize Theron, Marton Csokas, Jonny Lee Miller, Sophie Okonedo, Amelia Warner, Caroline Chikezie and Frances McDormand was directed by Karyn Kusama.




Charlize began her career as a model in her native South Africa. She worked extensively in fashion capitols such as Milan and Paris before coming to the U.S.

Her feature film debut was MGM's 2 Days in the Valley, starring with James Spader, Eric Stoltz, and Jeff Daniels.
