Lawsuits have started to become as much a nuisance for Google as
they are for Microsoft, all these legal actions leaving holes in the online giant's budget. It's true that the lawsuits' nature is completely different, most of those involving Microsoft targeting patents.
For Google, most problems are only caused by just one thing, and that's „click fraud", which basically means that advertisers get to pay money for a service they don't receive.
And it seems that the plaintiffs no longer settle for a few million dollars and they are determined to get more from the leader of the online searches.
Although in March Google agreed to pay the companies that sued the search engine $60 million, plus $30 million to the lawyers, Joseph Kinney, a former Google advertiser, filed a complaint that alleges the amount is too small.
According to the
Washington Post, if the lawyers who settled the class-action case are paid $30 million, advertisers would be left with a refund pool that represents less than 0.5 percent of the $13.3 billion in ad revenue that Google has collected during the past 4 1/4 years.
The Arkansas court, where the lawsuit was filed, will pronounce a verdict on July 24.
