10tacle Studios and Runesoft have recently announced Jack Keane for the Mac. The PC adventure game is to be ported to both Intel and PPC-enabled Macs. Jack Keane's adventures will be ported and published by Runesoft, who plans to roll the game out by the end of May, this year.

Some are wondering why Apple isn't hurrying to deliver
that ultimate gaming machine. Not that I'd try answering that burning question without asking Apple themselves first why, but the mere fact that almost every popular video game hits Macs long after PCs, while Mac users don't even get a decent demo all the time, should pretty much stand as a fair answer to that.

Anyway, let's get back to Jack. This guy might just become a real adventurer one day. He feels most at home in jungles, trackless deserts, endless ice fields and anywhere else there are dangers to be braved. All he really needs to become a true adventurer is a bit more confidence and some experience to go with it, the game's official web site reveals.

Impressive description, I must say... OK, so Jack isn't exactly Superman but by the looks of it, this game should provide some laughs. Look at it this way. The game's web site reveals Amanda as the second most important character within the game. 10tacle asks: "Women don't know what they want?" The same studio answers: "Amanda does!"

The woman takes whatever she wants, leaves her home and family (for whom she was never good enough) in the States and heads out in pursuit of high adventure in the Indian Ocean. Now, imagine poor Jack stumbling across Amanda. Yeah... I wouldn't say he has too much of a chance at scoring with her.

Still, the game could prove me wrong. Can't say for sure until it's out for Macs. A demo would be nice. Unfortunately, the Jack Keane playable demo that unveils the first four levels of the eagerly anticipated comedy adventure game is available for Windows users alone, at least for now.

Guess Microsoft could use this as a counterattack to Apple's "I'm a Mac ads," huh?
