It seems that tablets are either very highly anticipated, or the Tegra 2 SoC is very appealing, or both, because the Advent Vega slate, one of the devices that actually got listed not long ago, has already sold out.

Just a couple of days ago, Advent managed to make quite some noise on the mobile device market by actually getting its Tegra 2-based tablet listed by PC World.

Now, it seems that whoever was actually planning on buying on, and were not among the lucky few that were paying close attention earlier today, will have to wait a while longer.

Apparently, PC World started selling the tablet earlier today (Friday, November 19) but soon became unable to keep doing so.

The reason was not any sort of difficulty with the website or troubles with the delivery service.

What placed PC World in the odd situation of being unable to respond to orders just hours after listing the Vega as available was the fact that it sold out in what can be seen as record time.

As the exact web page on the website states, the product is no longer available.

“Due to unprecedented demand we have sold out and will be back in stock next week,” is what the exact words are.

For those interested in a reminder, the Vega is built upon the NVIDIA Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-chip) and equipped with a 10.1-inch LCD.

Said screen has a native resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels and support for capacitive touch input.

Advent also made sure to throw in 512 MB of Flash storage, plus a microSD card slot, which lets consumers add significantly more.

There was also mention of HDMI, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11 b/g WiFi and a 2-cell battery, plus the Android 2.2 Operating System.

All in all, it measures 275 x 178 x 13.6 mm and has a price of £249, said sum being most likely the main factor behind the quick sell-out. Unfortunately, just how many tablets were actually sold is not known.
