There are plenty of codec packs out there, so it’s sometimes pretty difficult to choose one that really works and doesn’t deploy all kinds of useless files on your computer.

Advanced Codecs for Windows 7 and 8 is one of those specifically aimed at the two newest Windows versions on the market, coming with everything you’d need to easily play your multimedia files.

Version 4.1.9 final comes with several improvements, including LAV Filters 58.1, BE filters 3030 and Icaros 223b1, according to the official release notes.

As you can figure out by simply reading the codec pack’s name, it was designed to work on both Windows 7 and Windows 8, with 32- and 64-bit versions of the two operating system being supported right now. Download Advanced Codecs for Windows 7 and 8 (formerly Win7codecs) 4.1.9 Final from Softpedia
