The Global Green Awards have selected their winners in terms of sustainable design. Among the companies and celebrities who managed to fight climate change through powerful innovations or an overall green are Sprint, Starbucks, Fisker, 350.org and actor Adrian Grenier.

Grenier is definitely green, since he follows the same path to success as most of the earth-friendly celebrities. While Tobey Maguire turned down a brand new Mercedes due to the fact that its luxurious interior relied on natural leather, Grenier's eco-home located in Brooklyn has a zero impact upon the environment, being waste and emission-free.

Adrian Grenier along with his partner, Peter Glatzer, managed to take home the Entertainment and Design Award for their SHFT innovative project. SHFT's developers were awarded for their innovative multimedia platform which gathers news, ideas and strategies related to the present environmental challenges.

The people who embrace green values will most likely appreciate their concepts which provides diverse information: everything you might need or want to know, from baked pancakes to “Turkey Tips For a Sustainable Thanksgiving.”

The platform proves that every field of activity can become more sustainable, while the people and companies behind it keep manifesting their care towards the environment. Architecture, fashion, art, business are the main domains taken into consideration.

One of the other winners was Starbucks, a sustainable company which focused on designing and implementing smart LEED-certified facilities all across the globe at the beginning of 2010.

For this achievement, the enterprise received the Green Building Design. Another significant step on the road to sustainability was the recycling strategy developed by the company for eight months in Manhattan.

In order to deal with the amount of waste in a much more efficient manner, the company decided to implement in-store paper cup recycling bins, available for their customers. Despite the fact that Starbucks didn't reveal the effects of their green initiative, experts say that such a measure has the potential to change the behavior of the entire food industry.

The officials from the Global Green Awards couldn't end the event without awarding Sprint’s innovative Replenish phone, which will most likely redefine its position on the market after receiving the Product Design distinction. According to the officials from Sprint company, their latest product is green all the way, from the manufacturing phase until the moment it is no longer wanted by its owner.
