Konami Digital Entertainment has announced a new title, called Adrenalin Misfits, that is set to be released for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and will make full use of the new Kinect motion tracking system, which is currently set to be launched in November. The publisher says that the new game will allow player to feel the same excitement and adrenalin surge that is felt by real world practitioners of the complex sport of crossboarding.
The player will literally turn into a monster, albeit one that will not harm anyone, and will ride against other fantasy creatures in a series of crossboard events that take place in a variety of backgrounds, including mountain with snow covered peaks, cascades, deserts assaulted by sand storms, glaciers, caves and even volcanoes.
The body of the player will be directly involved in controlling the crossboard and each gamer will have a chance to create his own style complete with signature tricks and moves.
Adrenalin Misfits will also allow players to use an Avatar instead of a monster as the player character.
There are more than 60 crossboards included in the game and each of them can be collected to get access to its unique ability.
The game features single player challenges but will probably offer the most fun when two players, each independently tracked by Kinect, go up against each other
Shinji Hirano, who is the president of
Konami Digital Entertainment, declared, “Konami is always at the forefront of the ever-evolving gaming industry, and with one of our debut Kinect for Xbox 360 title we are combining an original action game with an all-new way to play.”
He added, “With Adrenalin Misfits, we wanted to use Kinect for Xbox 360 technology to provide consumers with a fun and interactive experience that is unparalleled in the industry. Now it’s easier than ever for anyone and everyone to master crossboard riding.”
