Flash drive makers seem to be running out of ideas. Either that, or they really feel that flower-shaped candy is the best inspiration ever.

For those wondering what I'm on about, Apacer has introduced the "FlowerCandy" AH172 Mobile flash drive line.

Designed with 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB, they are shaped like colored little flowers, either "Romantic Peach" or "Fresh Blue."

Apacer intended for the "FlowerCandy" AH172 Mobile to serve owners of smartphones and tablets with USB OTG support (USB On-the-Go). USB OTG allows the flash drive to act as host device, kind of like a PC would, making a computer intermediary unnecessary.

Alas, prices haven't been mentioned yet. Given that USB 3.0 isn't supported, they shouldn't be too high, although I suppose the OTG capability will level things out.
