About a week and a half ago, a set of otter pup triplets was born at Pueblo Zoo in Colorado, US. The tiny creatures, one of which is pictured above, are nothing short of adorable, and vets are happy to announce that they are all healthy and active.

Media reports say that, despite the fact that the pups were born on March 3, staff at Pueblo Zoo only got to have a close look at them several days later, on March 6.

This is because they preferred not to disturb the family and instead allowed the pups to bond with their mom unhindered, Zoo Borns tells us.

According to the same source, two of the baby otters are girls, and the third one is a boy. At birth, the male weighed merely 145 grams (roughly 5.11 ounces).

One of the girl, on the other hand, was found to weight about 135 grams (approximately 4.76 ounces), and the other one tipped the scale at 155 grams (some 5.46 ounces).

Caretakers say that they are all nursing well, and that it is only a matter of time until they get significantly plumper.

The three baby otters are currently off exhibit, and odds are it will be several more weeks until they are strong and confident enough to finally make their public debut.
