14 DAY TRIAL // Software company Adobe released several months ago the final version of its popular Flash Player 10.1 technology aimed at mobile phone users out there, and has just updated the list of devices that include support for it.
It's a common fact that Adobe released the solution for mobile phones powered by the latest version of Google's Android operating system, namely Android 2.2 Froyo.
Only a few devices on the market feature the new platform flavor, while the manner in which the solution was made available for these handsets is quite different.
For example, the first handset to taste Android 2.2 and support for Flash Player 10.1 was the Nexus One, which got updated a few months ago.
However, in order to take advantage of Flash Player, Nexus One owners out there need to head over the Android Market to download the solution.
The same applies to DROID by Motorola handsets out there, but only after the Android 2.2 build FRG22C or higher was installed on the mobile phone.
HTC Evo 4G and HTC Desire users can enjoy Flash Player 10.1 too, as it has been included in the Android 2.2 software update HTC has pushed into the wild for them.
The only handset that came to shelves with Adobe Flash Player 10.1 software straight from the start was the DROID 2 by Motorola, which was launched with Android 2.2 on board.
In addition to explaining how all these devices go along with its technology, Adobe also confirms that DROID X by Motorola users should soon receive the Android 2.2 update with Flash Player 10.1 included in it, though it does not offer a specific release date.
“Adobe Flash Player 10.1 software for Android has been released to partners. Flash Player 10.1 for mobile currently requires Android 2.2 to be installed on your phone. The upgrade path for your phone will depend on the specific device, manufacturer, operator, and region,” the software company announced.
