Adobe has released an update for its page layout / desktop publishing (DTP) software application InDesign CS3, as well as an update for InCopy CS3, Adobe's writing and editing program that integrates with Adobe InDesign CS3.

“The Adobe InDesign CS3 5.0.4 update is a CS4 compatibility update,” says Adobe, “containing fixes that address known issues with CS4 to CS3 Export to INX (Save Back) workflows”. According to the company, the update also fixes issues with File Size, Hyphenation, Performance, Anchored Objects, Character Alignment, Step and Repeat, Indexing and Table of Contents, Text and Fonts, Dictionaries, Color, Scripting, Import/Export Graphics, InDesign Interchange files (INX), XML, Library files, and Printing.

Adobe InDesign CS3 is used to “explore creative possibilities”. The software provides users with the ability to streamline repetitive tasks, thus boosting productivity. Every designer will agree that the less time they spend on editing, the more they can exercise their creativity. Being built for demanding workflows, InDesign integrates smoothly with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InCopy, and Dreamweaver software and enables the creation of richer, more complex documents.

Adobe InDesign CS3 5.0.4 requirements call for a PowerPC G5 or multicore Intel processor, Mac OS X v10.4.11–10.5.4; 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended); 1.6GB of available hard-disk space for installation (additional free space required during installation, while the software cannot install on a volume that uses a case-sensitive file system or on flash-based storage devices); 1,024x768 display (1,280x800 recommended) with 16-bit video card; DVD-ROM drive; QuickTime 7 software required for multimedia features and, of course, a broadband Internet connection for online services.

Adobe InCopy 5.0.3 fixes issues with notes, tagging, character alignment, undo and redo, text and fonts, dictionaries, import/export graphics, and others. To download the two updates, use the links provided below.
