Adobe has released a couple of days ago several security updates for its Adobe Flash Player plugin, for Linux, Android, Windows, and Macintosh operating systems.

The surprise was bigger when we saw an update for the Linux version of the Flash Player plugin, which was upgraded from version 11.2.202.297 to version 11.2.202.310. It's a small change, but it is essential, especially when Adobe states that it won't update the Flash Player for Linux anymore.

Let's get a little technical and discover exactly what this update patches, as stated on the security bulletin posted by Adobe on September 10, 2013. "These updates address vulnerabilities that could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system."

Therefore, Adobe urges users of Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.297 and earlier to immediately update their systems to the newly released version, 11.2.202.310. Arch Linux and Red Hat users are among the first to get this update, supported on both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
