Adobe has released security updates for Flash Player, Shockwave Player, Reader and Acrobat on all major platforms.

In the case of Flash Player, a total of four vulnerabilities have been fixed. The flaws can be exploited by cybercriminals to crash a system and possibly even to take control of it.

The updates apply to Flash Player 11.8.800.94 and earlier versions for Windows and Mac, Flash Player 11.2.202.297 and earlier versions for Linux, Flash Player 11.1.115.69 and earlier versions for Android 4.x, and Flash Player 11.1.111.64 and earlier versions for Android 3.x and 2.x.

Users of Adobe Shockwave Player 12.0.3.133 and earlier versions for Windows and Mac are also advised to update their installation. The company has released a new version that addresses two vulnerabilities that can be exploited to execute malicious code on impacted systems.

A total of eight security holes have been fixed in the Mac and Windows versions of Adobe Reader and Acrobat. Version 11.0.03 and earlier are impacted.

“These updates address vulnerabilities that could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system,” Adobe noted in its advisory.
